Hi

We have used 2 VMPRO's one for each IP403 at seperate offices connected by a WAN. Before last wekend we had a different subnet at each office but we have changed this so the two offices are bridged at 100mbps and the IP403's are now ont he same IP range.

Since doing this we have had incessant problems gettign the VMPRO to stay working at the main site (the one whose IP range did NOT change!)

THe VMPRO service and DB service area running but the VMpro just does not work, we cannot dfial VM and our main incomign route uses VMPRO and has failed.

HELP!

Did you also change the IP routes in the IP Office?

How are the 2 IP403s connected - i.e. do they use scn?

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

and what sort of dongle are you using?

We have "parallel" dongles on the VMpro servers.

The IP routes were deleted out of both IP403's

They connect together using "Voice Networking2 option i.e. SCN.

I know that there should only be one VMPRO but this is how it was sold to us and Avaya are not interested in swapping 2x4port VMPRO for 1x8 port VMPRO.

Oddly, on the main site, we had to move the dongle and "key server" to another machine last week as the licences were coming up as invalid, that is definitely solved. I have just installed VMPRO on that same "other" machine and it is up at the moment, maybe the original server is dying slowly or some obscure update has caused subtle networking issues.

Fingers crossed it stays up..

Thanks for INSTANT responses!

Having 2 VM servers on 1 SCN will cause problems
Having 2 Vm servers & 2 dongles on the same network is

Likely to cause problems if you have not set the IP Addresses for the Licence server & the VM Server correctly in the system tab of both IP Offices.

If you can Disable SCN & route calsl using shortcodes, but this will loose some functionality between the systems.

Thanks for your input. The licence and VM servers are explicitly set rather than left on broadcast address.

AS I say it is up so far so I am hopeful it was down the the original server..
