Hello I have a problem with my k7ama mobo it runs great in every way but one. I am running windows xp home and every time I boot into windows it loses my cd rom and my cdrw in there place is generic disk drives and they dont work when I try to use them. They are being reconized at bootup by my bios by name and model number but not in windows untill I reinstall them and then when I reboot they are gone again.
I thought it might be motherboard chipset drivers but I cannot find any drivers anywhere on the net. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx JoeC

If your AMD is playing silly ga,es like mine is, Just be thankfull that you have an OS to boot off.

My PC will not install WIndows (any version).

Regards

Here are the drivers for your board. Please check to make sure you have version 1.2 or 1.5-

Sierra25- the biggest problem I have run into with these system boards is the type of memory. They are very touchy as to what they use. Go to and use thier memory configurator to see what the requirements are.
Had a similar problem with installing any OS until I put in a module that was supported. Then installed Win2k and later XPpro with no problems.

The test continues...
