My boss wants to be able to intercom someone (through their speaker on the phone) while they are on a call. This function was used a lot in the old Merlin Legend system. I'm personally glad it's gone, but my boss is not. Is there a way to program this function? I can't find anyway to do it, but maybe someone else has.

To recap: If I'm on a call, my boss wants to intercom me over the speaker on my phone. Currently, the second line appearance will show that he is trying to reach me, and the phone will ring quietly, but he can not intercom unless I am off the phone.

Thanks for the help.

No, it can't be done. Tell him shout loudly.

[Okay, there is a feature called Dial Inclusion that would put your current call on hold and connect him and then when he hangup would reconnect the held call. Can be done either as a short code or a programmable button feature.

There is also the use of bridged appearance buttons to create a 3-way conference].

Would the Dial Inclusion automatically put my call on hold and make his call active on my phone? That could be very un-nerving, as well as unprofessional sounding.

I think I'll buy him a bull-horn.

Yeph, that's how dial inclusion works - a variant on forced intrusion.
