Headset problem on 5420D phone

I am having a problem with one of my extentions. We can't seem to get the headset to work. The headset is good so that isn't the problem. I wonder if I have a config problem. When I pull the config out of manager I see that the caller display is not on and the Icon for the extention is green and not red like all the rest. Could that be the problem? I am grabbing in the wind here for answers or a direction to go.

Headset isn't a config issue, if your phone works fine without the headset and the headset works fine on another phone (test on same model) it could be a something wrong with the phone.

I have tried it on the same model at another desk and it works fine (meaning the headset). If I move the phone that is having the problem to another desk it works fine (meaning the 5420D)with the headset. That is why I think there is a extention config problem.

You said caller display is set off. That shouldn't be posible on a digital extenstion so that makes me wonder if the phone works at all just using the handset.

If caller display is set off the icon in extensions is green instead of red. This can only be done in analog extensions, at least in 3.1 (65).

The handset works fine. Is there a way I can change the caller display to on. It is grayed out in the extention so I can't change it.

That's the thing, you can only change it on analog extensions, sounds like you've got a pretty strange situation.

Have you done any upgrades recently?
Moved any modules?
Is it a new extension or did it work before and have anything changed since then?
What software are you using?
