Headers and Footers size in word

Hi,
I'm using Word 2000 and have noticed some strange behaviour. When I start a new document my insertion point is placed near the middle of the document. This is because the header is set to a quarter the width of the page. I've changed the header size and that worked however the old settings reassert themselves every time word is restarted. I guess it is some registry key which I need to edit/delete/add but can find no reference to it on the microsoft website.

Anybody see this before?

When you do a page format, make sure you click on the default button, which will save the new settings to Normal.dot.

Close Word and start it again, which should re-read the "new" normal.dot and you should be OK.
