Hi
Can anyone help me resolve this problem. I have configured a simple peer-peer nework using OS Win Xp Pro SP2. Having resolved issues relating to ICS with the help of Tek-Tip collegues, I now find (problem is UNRELATED - this requirement is an extension of network capability) that the host PC can 'see' any drive/ folder on client (laptop) once permissions are set on the lattter. However the client (same OS/SP) cannot 'see'/access any HDD (there are 2)/ or any folders on the host. Firewalls have been disabled on both for testing purposes.
When I attempt to map a network drive to the host PC (Hafod), from the client - 'MSHOME/HAFOD', I cannot resolve drives/folders. I have assigned share names on the host.
In the 'Sharing-Network Sharing and Security' config settings for the host 'D' drive I have ticked the two boxed - maximising permissions. (MS Firewall OFF)
I do note that on the Client PC, I also have the SECURITY tab - as well as the sharing tab in all Drive configuration dialogs. The security tab is NOT present on the host. How can I display these group/user permissions - could this allow me to resolve the 'simplex'natured problem?
Many thanks in anticipation again
