I can conncet but the emulation screen is very slow and kinda funky. What is the best setup or mode for intuity via modem?

I experimented with different emulation and I finally settled on 513 but it still runs slow. My modem is set to analog. Some days I have to disconnect and reconnect a number of times to unlock the screens. Wonder why Audix is so ornery in ASA. Your not alone!

I cannot get any emulations to work for me. Help

I can connect both ways.

so you can get to the login prompt, correct? you log in, then what terminal type are you selecting?

513. sometimes I can display a sub but then I'm stuck. I can't get command promt anymore.

I don't think the C-LAN install is related to this problem, but you started having this problem after you installed the C-LAN?

I'm not connecting through the Clan. Im using ASA via dial-up modem. I've got it working somewhat. I can log in and make changes. But if I do a disp sub xxxx I cannot cancle. Thje cancel button button "F1" doesn't do it's job so I get locked out. I think there is a way of changing the button program.

In the properties in ASA - set the Default Emulation for 4410. Then when prompted for emulation after login, put in 4410 again. Choose Analog Modem with ATM1 Init String...

Hope this helps.

maybe the use of terminal emulator, i.e. avaya terminal emulator or procomm would do it. its command line but it will work fine!

If u can, change and use the C Lan, I think that u will have much better luck. Also this will free the modem to call out to Avaya or whoever that is monitoring your system in case it has problems.

P.S. A message to all,if you want to get the best response to a question, please read FAQ222-2244 first. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx system & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Be aware that if u don't answer a question, I usually will not continue to help u.

I know that you are not using the C-LAN to access the Intuity. You use either the modem or the NIC in the Intuity. I was stating/asking that your 'slow and funky' connection to the Intuity via the modem only started after you installed the C-LAN in your PBX.

well yes, but I've never used it before either.

So a week ago, you went to the Intuity Terminal and the Definity Terminal, next to both machines, to admin the VM and PBX. Now that you just added the C-LAN, you want to go into the PBX by way of the C-LAN and into the Intuity via the modem. Am I correct in this?

right! Ive go it working somewhat but it's stil kind or funky.
funky= Odd characters on the command line opon loging in, odd characters poping in and out or used as boarders. Slow etc.

it will be slow on the modem compared to being at the terminal. as far as the odd characters...you might not be loging in as the right type of terminal. follow 98Converter's advice and check that again.
