Having Problems with SSL and IIS

I have just recentl purchased a SSL certificate and installed it on my server and opt for the site to require a https connection. However I am not able to view the site.
Has anyone had this problem before? I am completely baffled as to why this is happening. I have installed ssl certs before and have not had this problem. I am using 2003 server.
