I'm having serious trouble with my computer. The 999 mhz system with 200 MB RAm is really acting up. It won't let me install Norton Antivirus 2003 because it says it has 2002 installed, taking up 16 MB! I cannot find a trace of the 2002 version, and when i try uninstall it (it appears in the add/remove programs dialog), it tells me it can't find windows/installer/nav.msi. I strongly feel that there's a virus on the computer, and I need this issue resolved. Everything else in Norton Systemworks works. Can anyone help?

I've noticed that some programs leave garbage around if attempt to uninstall them don't succeed completely. You might look in the C:\Program Files directory to see if there is still a norton directory there with something left over from a previous installation of 2002.

If you find something and delete it and still can't install 2003 I'd call Norton technical support. There may need to be entries in the registery that need to be deleted and if you don't know what your doing that is a really good way to really mess things up.
