Has anyone installed Quark 4.X on OS 10.2.8 or 9.2.2?

I posted this once before and got no reply-perhaps no one had problems? If you've done this successfully a reply would be helpful. I hope to avoid downtime after installing. My original post is as follows:

Are there any known issues or tips regarding installing Quark 4.X on a G4 with OS 10.2.8, and classic v 9.2.2 (not bootable)?
I run InDesign 2, Photoshop 7, Illustrator 10, GoLive 6, PageMaker 6.5, FreeHand, and Word 10. I have Quark 4 sitting here in the office. I freelance graphics and some clients would like me to have Quark on my computer. Are there any reasons known why I should not install this program?

I use quark 4.1, and I have an imac which runs in 10.3 and 9.2, the only problem is that quark didn't move over to OSX until they launched Quark 6, so you will have to launch classic to run it. I don't seem to have had any problems though, apart from printing, but I think that depends on the printer.

Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to have PageMaker or Photoshop running on OS 9 too? I just want to be sure extension conflicts won't be an issue.

Keep in mind that QXD 6.0 will only allow you to "downsave" to QXD 5.0 , which renders QXD 4.1 useless as you still cant open any QXD files unless they are opened in 5.o and downsaved to 4.1.

I am running QXD 6.1 on 10.3 and I also have QXD 5 installed which opens in Classic without problems.

I am also running QXD 4.0 on my portable that is running 10.1 with no issues.

I need to open new quark files in 6 , save as 5 , then open in 5 and save as 4 before moving to my portable.

or there is a nifty little xtension made buy the guys a markzware that can open v6 files in v4.1. check it out at

My preivious employer had Markztools3 and it was good at fixing some corruptions as well. havent used the latest version though.
