Hardware profiles

I am stumped with this hardware profile problem. some how a hardware profile with no name but it show up as a blanked profile but i can not delete the damned thing. i have change the name but it came backup as a blank. i have deleted it but it came backup up.

i am accessing the profile thru right clicking the explorer and selecting property.

my boot hardware profile is ok, just inside windows nt 4 sp5 that is screwed up.

any help is much appreciated,

Hardware Profiles are located here. Unfortunately I can't say for sure if deleting the blank one (if there) will help.
I'd backup before I would start experimenting.

HLMK\system\currentcontrolset\control\idconfigdb\hardware profiles

goto this registry key and make sure under hardware profiles the "PreferenceOrder" for each profile match the profile number.

i.e. under hardware profiles you have "0001", your PreferenceOrder value should be "1"
