hardware malfunction

i've tried to install windows 2000 professional in my computer, but it shows the message above (hardware malfunction).

now i have windows me and linux installed in the machine, and they're working fine.

During the Windows NT boot process, the computer may stop responding (hang) and the following error message may appear:

*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
*** The system has halted ***

hi folks,

i've hound the solution to this situation. i had to disable the serial on the bios setup.
