I am a first time user for backup exec. Made a new installation on Windows 2003 R2. On making a 400GB backup, the job stopped after backing up 11GB. The windows event viewer says 3 errors (IDs 34113 - a Hardware Error Occured,57665 - HP StorageWorks Ultrium 960" reported an error on a request to write data to media, 33152 - Write Failure!)
I've reloaded all the latest veritas drivers for the tape drive, but the problem persists. The SCSI Controller I am using is Adaptec 29320ALP-Ultra320.
Can somebody help me on the issue, I am in a critical situation because the backup has not happened in last 10 days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in adv.

Have you looked at your tape drive? These new drives usually have a threshold of how many write errors it can have before it reports back that it has failed.

Thanks guys for your help. I've connected the server to the new HP Autoloader and its working fine now.
One, more thing now. We are using lotus domino as our mail server. I've installed the license for domino agents on the backup server and also pushed the agent to our domino. But it didn't backup the databases.
Any advice??

Do you see the Domino Agent Icon for selection?
