Hardware Audit 1

Does anyone know of a good concise simple audit tool that will give me hardware details like used and available bus sockets and DIMM sockets as well as things like processor speed, total RAM, number of Hard disks and capacity.

Also it would be useful if it would list main applications, but not all the sub-apps.

I need this so that we can quickly identify PCs that meet system specifications, possibly by using a script-file or simple quick procedure, without sending someone out with a pen, paper and screwdriver.

Thanks for you posts. Sorry its taken so long to say so. ( I really don't get much chance to come aboard.)
I looked at the Belark link. But the web based tool doesn't seem to offer socket utilisation info, there is a corporate version, but I doubt that will either. Do you know otherwise?

System info really doesn't meet the mark but what is Scisoft's Sandra? I'll look into it...

I found this bit of software on the net then remembered about this post so you could try this one. It's by RJLSoftware so should be good if their other stuff is anything to go by. Quote" If you ever needed to inventory your department or companies machines, this utility is a must have time saver!"

You can also check out this software, a program called CheckIt:

It's been around for many years, I've used it back when like 486's first hit the market. of course the software has gone through updates since then. It goes through a complete hardware search, tells you every little detail about every piece of hardware.
