I need to print reports using dot-matrix printer. The font i used for my report is draft 10 which is not a windows font so what i see in preview is not what i get in my report. If i were to use windows font, printout would be very slow. Is there any work around for this problem?

Try installin a Generic/Text printer driver. And switch to that when it comes time to print your report.

that the trouble with using dotmatrix printers, unless you print straight text, the window graphic fonts are slow.

in the old days when I wanted to test the link from the dos system to the printer I would just copy the file to the lpt1 or lpt2

run the report to a file in ASCII format
then try to just copy the file to lpt1

I would test this but all my printers are hooked by USB

Attitude is Everything

I have install the driver for the dot-matrix printer and is currently using it for printing purposes. Data is being chop-off on the hardcopy whereas the preview seems okay.

if yo are refering to copying of the file to the printer. then send an eject command after the copy to clear the printer buffer. you could most likely do this with fox commands or have a empty file to copy to the printer with only an carrage return in it.

in the dos days it was ECHO Ctrl L lpt1 Attitude is Everything

Thanks pple. Will try it out when get back to office tomm.
