Hi All,

I plan on upgrading our network this year from Windows2000 to Windows2003. I have a few servers that have less than a gig of free disk space on the primary partition. What are the free disk space requirements doing this type of upgrade? I would be afraid of beginning the setup and then the setup hosing because of lack of free disk space. Can anyone provide some info on this? Could someone provide me some links on this?

Thanks

Thanks for the linnk to the white paper document. That will help me out.

One interesting thing is I have upgraded a server that had only 900MEG on the C partition and I did not have any issues. I have heard setup needs about 1.5GB of free space. Why was I able to get through the setup for this particular server?

hmm .. the installation probably used your RAM as a buffer or somthing but thats only a guess.

What sort of hard dive configuration are you using? ... could you not add a few extra disks to give you a little more space.

The idea is to have enough disk space on your primary (C drive) partition when running setup. I have 1 drive on my servers that are partitioned for c and d. Adding an extra disk will not help I don't think. Correct me if I am wrong, when setup runs it will check for disk space on your c drive correct?
