hello;

I besion steps to copy a blank hard disc of a hard disc OPERATIONAL of nortel network phone system sucession 3.0 because the former disc drive has been damaged,

Thank you for your help.

You may be able to create an image of the HD using Ghost. But follow the Nortel documentation. There's a reason why it's there.

What model PBX do you have? If a 61c or an 81c - you should be able to swap cores in the event of a hard disk failure and restore hard drive in the off-line core - just don't wait too long to do this lest your active core's HD craps the bed. An 11c or a 51c has no redundant processors so you have to replace the drive and restore the software, database and patches.

Generally speaking, if you lose a hard drive, once the drive is replaced you reinstall the software from install media and restore the PBX database from removable media (either CF card or floppy disk - depending on what Nortel system you have), then restore patches. Just rotate backup media on/off-site so you have a good copy somewhere if you need it - and keep install media with the PBX so it's always there when you need it at 2:00 am (and again can't hurt to keep a copy somewhere else in case the copy in the PBX media grows feet and leaves).

For the most part you should be able to download install media from Avaya's website if you have a vendor log on.

But if you are unsure of how to do this, have your vendor do it for you.
