Any ideas? We moved the data off a media server (with failing disks) to alternate hardware (without fibre cables). So, we made it a mere client while we wait to get the old (out of warranty) hardware replaced. But we're getting this error message on the restore attempts. I've selected the master as a Failure Restore Server.
I'm getting ready to import the tape. I've used this technique before when restoring data from a media server in one environment to a regular client in an alternate NBU environment.

Sounds like it should work. I just looked over this old technote and it does state that if the move isn't done correctly that an import process will have to be used. Take a look and perhaps there's something you can get to help you.

De-commissioning a Media Server and removing it from the NetBackup configuration.
