Hi Guys,

We have a 2k3 server and XP clients. We have 50 users who all work fine but one user whose home drive (H:) is mapping to the wrong place, despite the Active Directory setup on the DC's being correct. Her H: drive should map to \\server\D$\home\username like everyone else's, but instead it shares to \\server\D$\home.

Any ideas?

I take it you're not sharing out \home, or you could use \\server\home\%username%

Anyways, verify that the users' folder is actually spelled the same as %username%.

Thanks guys,

The Home folder is being shared.

Manually mapping the drive works but the next day it will have totally disappeared or will again map to the home share! So confused!!

Check the users account property in AD and verify the settings on the Profile tab.

I suspect that the user has the home folder configured at the profile level.

Hi We have the same problem,

The only way round it that we found was to change the following on the users pc's

The problem was defiantly a client issue and not a server one.

We applied a local policy to some of the machines of:
Computer configuration
Administrative Components
System
Logon

Change always wait for the network at computer startup to Enable.

This has worked for us but we have only been testing for a few days.
