Hello,

I am looking for starting points to develop a GUI which should have drag-and-droppable objects. Like moving pins accross a map.
I have no idea as to where I should start and the complexity involved. I only have experience with databases (ADO...) not with graphical interfaces.

thanks for any suggestions

thanks but that wasn't very helpful. Most topics are about drag and drop of database records.
I want to move graphical objects around on a map

Well the first 10 results from the search are all about dragging and dropping controls on a form...

Not very nice to send someone to a place where not any of the questions are fully answered or answered at all.... 8S

I just remembered that I have a book where they handeled a topic about this function. You will hear from me soon. Have to check it out later (Am at work)

Have you actually bothered to read any of the posts. The posts that are 5th and 6th in the results (thread796-1021112 and thread796-1019462) contain both code examples and links to MSDN on how to do Drag & Drop functionality.

let's not get all worked up !

if anyone has something helpful to say, then say it, or we'll all be wasting our time :)

I don't know what you mean by that comment - I was simply asking the user if they had actually read the posts as it did contain information on Drag/Drop functionality.

By their comments it looks as though they haven't even read the information before they posted (and their post didn't contain anything helpful anyway).

Its very easy to be critical and to jump on the back of others posts. Seemingly a few days on and the useful book information is still to materialise?
