Hi,

Have a new farm of 6509`s to look after, rather than use the CLI, are there any standalone GUI applications I can use... Nortels have java device manager, is their a cisco equivalent?

thanks, Lee

Just turn of http server on the boxes and you should be able to use a browser . If they are the older hybrid catos,IOS boxes then you have to have a specific code on the catos side to be able to manage that side , the IOS should be just enabling the http server end . Most people don't bother with this function and frankly you are much better off learning the CLI , there is a lot of stuff you can't do with the GUI end .

A CCNP asking for a GUI - thats a new one on me! ;)

:D

Its for the helpdesk staff, they already administer our nortels via JDM, just wanted a cisco version.

Ciscoworks 'CiscoView' will accomplish this, though I doubt you'd want to pay for price just to configure them using the GUI...

Hi,

thanks for the suggestion but I have never got on with Cisco works looks like HTTP or CLI is our only option.
