Groupwise 8908 error

I have 2 servers both running groupwise. I am trying to proxy the diary of another user on a different server but it keeps coming up with a 8908 error saying it cannot connect to the specified IP Address. I know the IP is correct and i have checked that that both POA's are up and running. This is a new problem within the last few days as it has been running ok.
