i was wondering if i were to move a user into a group does it affect the user permissions and right the group i am moveing the use into has just the deafult persmisson i didnt change anything

If you have explicit permissions set for a user, for example, they have permission to d:\public\something\ directory, adding them to a group will not remove those permissions. Adding them to a group will give them their existing explicit permissions, and also the group permissions.

If you are MOVING them from one group to another, then they will get new permissions.

Usually, I set up groups with exceptions; for example, I have groups such as HR, Admin, and Line Staff. I have my directory structure so that GROUPS have permissions to the directories. When I add users, I assign them to a group. If a particular user needs something special (for example, the executive assistant needed access to the executive's folder), I add those manually (the exceptions).
