Grouping not owrking for shared variable from subreport 1

I am using CRXI SP1

I really need help badly. My totals on a shared variable from the subreport is not working on my groupings on the main report.

On this grouping by subacct:

GH4A Travel
GF6 Travel Exp1 500
GF6 Travel Exp2 200
GF5B Total Travel 700

The GF5B shows the correct total amount

I go to the previous tab and I see this:

GH4A Travel
GF5B Travel & Expenses 0
GF5B General Travel & Accruals 0
GF4B Total Travel 0

GF5B is now zeroes. I don't understand. I have no reset variable for GF5 but somehow it is not carrying over once I change grouping tabs.

Can somebody please help.

This sounds like a carry-over from your recent thread. You don't mention it here, but by "group tabs" I think you must be referring to drilldown windows. I don't think you can share variables across windows. Drilldown is based on hiding sections, and if a subreport is hidden or suppressed, it will not execute and therefore cannot share any of its results. You might want to rethink your report design.

Thanks LBass. I guess that's why nobody answered my previous thread.

My problem is that I have a one to many database and when I display my variables for the many databases, I get duplicate values and the sums are not correct. How ca I get rid of the duplicates?

Running totals are a handy tool for dealing with that. Once you figure out what field the values are duplicating on, you can evaluate on change of that field or group, or you can use a formula to tell the running total which records to evaluation.
