Has anyone ever installed groupwise 5.5 client on a windows 2000 pro pc? I tried but it wanted an updated messaging system. I downloaded it off novell's site but the actual file didn't even do anything? It looked like it was a compressed file and when I double clicked it to extract it, it opened up a command prompt and then closed real quick. Just wondering if it is possible with out bending over backwards.

-Thanks

Hi,

Yep, you need to install Windows Messaging on the client.

Normally Novell patches need to be extracted in a subdirectory off the root (C:) of the PC your extracting it on.

Next open up a DOS window and run it that way. If it doesn't extract, the very least is you will see the error.

Another possibility is that you didn't get the full file. Try downloading it again.

How come when I go to Novell's site and try to download the group wise client for win 2000 it will only show me 6 and up?
