I'm looking for two things...

I'd like a way to kick in a domain group and see what directories they have access to on my file server + rights..

also I'm looking for a reporting package that could do a rights audit on all the file server for the whole directory tree and show what groups have rights to where.. and how much

We've found some recent rights errors/gaps and I'm looking to perform a full audit on all our directories to double confirm that everything is as it should.

because of inheritence and nesting its impossible to do this manually.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I'm not aware of any real nice way to do this at a "per group" level. There is a nice utility called DumpSec (used to be called DumpACL). You can grab it from here:

I've used this before to audit NTFS permissions, it saved me having to write a script.
