Group policy synchronizing offline files

I have set up a group policy on my domain, which has been working fine, until I thought I'd try to set up offline files - (ie users files stored on the server are sychronized to their pc, in case the server should ever be offline). This has served to irritate users, therefore I tried removing it from the group policy. But now, even when I manually refresh group policy, users files still get synchronized.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hi Will
I undid the changes I'd made in the group policy. It's under Administrative Settings > Network > Offline Files (if I remember correctly). Everything in this container is now set to 'Not Configured'.

If I can;t cure this, I guess I can go round each workstation and unset offline files using 'mobsync' (which would take a while), but as I set this in group policy, I assumed I could unset it in group policy also!

The offline files settings part of the group policy may be one of those settings like folder redirection that only update when the workstation is rebooted.

Damned annoying if it is.

The only reason I asked is because when I added the Office 2003 admin templates to AD, I set some settings, which became unpopular rather quickly... so I simply deleted the templates... only to find that the settings still remained.
I loded up the templates again, and found the settings were still apparent. So I set all of them to Not Configured, but still the problem persisted... turns out that Not Configured seems to mean "leave as is", which of course in my situation (and maybe yours) meant that it should leave them with the settings set as I didn't want them!
So I deliberately went through and set as many as I could remember to Disabled (or Enabled where i had set to Disabled), and after a while this worked. I still had some settings which I had forgot I set, but as soon as someone called to say "Why haven't you change dthat back?" I was able to locate the setting and disable it again.

Once all was as it should be, I finally set all of the settings to Not Configured, then deleted the templates until I could do some more testing...

Does all that make sense? :)

Will - Didn;t work for me. I guess I'll just go round each workstation. Am I right that by disabling it under the local administrator password, it will apply to all users who log on to that machine?
