Hello, all - I am relatively new to the whole "GPO" thing, and so I need some help with what (I think) is pretty easy, but I just don't know how to do it.

I am distributing Office 2003 to our computers via a GPO - basically moving computers into the container for distribution, and then moving them into a separate container once the software is installed. Question is, how can I tell (without checking every computer individually) when the software has successfully been pushed out to each computer? Is there some way to get a notification or an "overall success" logfile?? I'm stumped, but I know this has got to be easy, right?

Thanks for all your help!

Within the GPMC (Group Policy Management Console) you have the ability to perform reporting on specifics like PCs. You can use this to query PC's or users to see what their effective policies are (RSOP - Resultant Set of Policies)

There are 2 modes, Logging and Planning. You want logging on this occasion.

(GPMC is a downloadable tool if you don't already have it:

There is also a command line tool called GPResult:

Eg:
c:\>GPResult /s \\<PCname> /USER <domain\username> /SCOPE user /v (takes a while to run)

Hope this is a start. Good luck
