Folks,

I am having the same problem as described in this post:

thread96-393844 I found no answers there that applied.

Here’s the problem:

W2K Server SP3 – brand new fresh install
W2K Professional Workstation SP3
Using Group Policies to set up a logon script
I created a new GPO and left the default GPO alone
Script is the right place per the “show files” button
Script is simple. Just maps a drive (net use z: \\server\share). It’s a .BAT file
Logon script runs at the server just fine
Logon script doesn’t run at the workstation
I have waited for the policies to take effect (several hours)
Workstation user logs into the domain with no problem. Script just doesn’t run.
Also set up My Documents folder redirection which runs fine locally, but not from the workstation.

Thoughts?

Thank you!

Check if the workstation is using your server DNS address.

koquito,

Boy, you are quick!

I was just going to add to the posting that I have DNS pointing to DNS servers on the Internet on this workstation, and not to the DC. I guess I could try adding the DC.

Also, using GPRESULT it seems that the policies that I set are not applying to this login from the workstation, if I am reading it correctly.

I'll try the DNS addition.

Thanks!

koquito,

That worked! (Adding the DC to the DNS list)

Thanks so much!!

Is this a wonderful system for learning or WHAT?
