We set a group policy that pushes out a specific url for everyone's IE home page.

User configuration - Windows Settings - IE Maintenance - URLs/Important URLs - Home Page

This policy was working properly to push out the url we specify. If the users changed their home page, the policy would override and set it back to what we specified.

Now we've decided to allow users to change their IE home page. When we disabled the policy, whatever was the home page when we imaged the computers is now what is coming up on their browser such as the PC manufacturer.

We would like to set up a default page (our company's website) for the browser and then allow the users to change if they would like.

Can this be done through a group policy?

you could muck around in DNS to make the request for the OEM home page be redirected to your company home page....

otherwise, it might be possible, but rather with IEAK and a custom install of IE instead of GPO...
