I created a group policy within a domain but it only affects those that were already part of the domain. When I joined new computers on the same domain, they don't get affected at all. I have a Windows 2k Server and I all have win2k pro workstations. All the new workstations can log in to the domain but some of the policies (i.e. do not display last log in name) don't work. Even if I have to restart the Win2k server, it still doesn't apply on the new computers. All win2k pro have Service pack 3. Need some help....

Are these GPOs set on the domain or on an OU in the domain? By default all computers are placed in the Computers container and are only effected by a GPO set on the domain root (GPOs can't be placed on a container). I'm not sure if you may have thought of this but if this is the case it may help you. Good luck.

Before I had it set on the OU, then when I joined the new computers they don't get affected. I tried it on the domain but still doesn't affect them.

have you moved them from the computer container (default place, I believe, for new computers in domain)

good luck let me know how it goes

check the workstations DNS settings, they must be using the DC Ip address as the DNS. A+, MCP, CCNA
