Hello All,
I have group of users that need to access each other's tasks folder in Outlook. The normal way of doing this is for each user to give permission to access the tasks folder by adding delegates in Outlook.

My question is, is there a way on the exchange server to setup a group of these users to have permission to each of its member's tasks folder (or any other folder for that matter)? The same idea as the NT group permission. This way, it would prevent a lot of repetitive permission granting on my part whenever there is a new member to this group. Any idea or suggestion is greatly appreciated!

I have Exchange 5.5, and outlook client is 2k all running on win 2k OS.

Thank you to all responses.

Would creating a Public Folder with a jointly shared task list satisfy your group of users? To explore this, and see some additional task management options, you can enter "Share Tasks" in Microsoft Outlook 2002 Help and review a summary of how users can assign, reassign and send task status reports, and you can also view "About public folders". I hope I've correctly understood your need!

Hi there,
Thanks for your response but the public folder root is not what I am looking for. I've found a solution I wish to share. Hopefully someone will find it useful :)

On Exchange Server:

Create a distribution list group
Add members
Restart the Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service

On Outlook Client

Open the intended mailbox that will share its folder to the DL members
Give Reviewer permission to the DL at the top level folder (i.e. Mailbox - name of mailbox)
Give the DL permission to the calendar and tasks folder using the delegate method, or give the permission to the folder you want to share (in this case, just right click on the folder, properties, permission) Note that if there are subfolders under tasks, you may have to give individual permission to those sub-folder to the DL.
Close Outlook
Test on DL member mailbox

smileyca2002, Sorry I misunderstood your need, and thanks for posting the solution details!
