Hi,

I have a continuous form which shows the following data for example :

Order Item Product description
2019 1 123 test product
2019 2 456 test product 2
2020 1 789 test again

I want to make a visible distinction between the different orders, e.g. by drawing a line between the different order numbers. (the same idea as with grouping level on a report)

Can anyone share his ideas on how to achieve this ?

Regards,

Peter

It is not possible in forms. Infact you can use two subforms and reqery the second form as per the record selected in the first subform. See Northwind DB Customer Orders form.

Closest possible way with a form is a datasheet main form, with either subdatasheets or a subcontinous form.

Conditional formating is different then group levels on a report.

Condtional Formating changes the color or font or background style of a text box

Groups in reports combine like items into groups.

How are ya markphsd . . . . .

If he's sorting on the Order field then there pre-grouped. If this is true (appears to be from his example) then with the proper conditional logic yes he can! he can say . . . . alternately shade the backgrounds. He/she may/maynot have to add an additional field to accomplish this . . . . depends.

The logic of grouping is universal and not limited to reports. Reports simply relieve you of pre-grouping your data.
