I am trying to use two fields in footer that have been summed and divide one by the other to get a percentage. However the percentage is always off. I know its not a rounding error. What am i doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

If these fields are Report Variables, make sure they're getting reset to zero at the proper time.

Jim

They are not report variables. They are same field names as the detail marked as sum in the calculations and to reset at the proper break point.

Since they are the same names as the detail it looks like I am getting the equation of the last detail record. Any suggesions?

Create report variables being the sum of the details in question. These variables will be available for the percentage calculation.

HI

Creat Report Variables...
VarField1 and VarField2
In the Value column Field1 and Field2 ..
Check SUM.. so that summation is done..
Reset at End of report...

Now in the Summary of report... provide for %..
(VarField1/varField2)*100 (and dont use SUM...).

YOur error is because.. (field1/field2) with SUM selected.. gives you.. for each detail line (Field1/Field2) and summing this result for the report.

Hope this helps you to understand the problem :) ramani :-9
