Group an object within a group?

Is there a way to group an object within a group? I would like to group a date field by month. Jan,Feb,March,April..etc.etc. but the date field is within a group already created.?

One Formula As Year(Date Field) & Month(Date Field)

Create New Group With Above Formula Below the main group whereever you want
