Greyed out buttons in office 2003

I have a problem with office 2003. After this was installed outlook along with other office products, have greyed out buttons. In outlook I am unable to send/reply/forward/ or do any other operations. Can anyone help me with this matter. Thank you.

Have u installed all the options to the hardrive(there are options under customise when installing, make sure u install components. Also did u manage to set up a mail account using outlook?
