Does anyone know why my file names in explorer are appearing in green? Thanks

Could it be file encryption turned on????????

If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

if u right click a "green" file, and select properties, then advanced, does it have the "encrypt contents to secure data" box ticked?

If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

You can use TweakUI to change the colors of compressed and encrypted filenames. This feature is enabled under Folder Options, View, "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS filenames in color". It does not apply to the FAT32 filestore. The colors can be changed in the Registry or by using TweakUI:

Open TweakUI
[+] Explorer
Colors
Next to the three options, Compressed files, Hot-tracking and Encrypted files, click on the respective color to change how Explorer displays the files. A color palette will pop up and you can make changes there.

Colors
This enables the changing of the colors of compressed files, hot tracking and encrypted files. To enable color changing of compressed and encrypted files, Explorer must be configured to show these files in a different color with the setting in Tools, Folder Options, View.

Hot tracking is the color Explorer uses to display items as you hover over them. Explorer must be in single click mode to see this.
