Grayed Buttons on data access page record navigator

The buttons on the record navigator in my data access page are present but are grayed (disabled). I would like to enable the filtering and sorting buttons. I could not find any reference in the on-line help as to how the buttons could be enabled.

The data acess page is NOT a pivot-table nor a spreadsheet. It is a grouped DAP that I created from scratch in design mode, using HTML bound controls, therefore it is a review-only page.

Meybe you do not have data in the source? They are enabled automatically when exists enough data them to be helpfull. You can enable/disable a button on VB as
ButtonName.enabled = true/false John Fill

There is data in the source. The Filter and Sort buttons should be available as soon as more than 1 record is in the source, which is the case. There must be something else.
