Asus A7V8X MoBo
WAS geforce 4 ti 4600
Now is radeon 9800 pro
Standard High End Dell Monitor
windows xp pro OS

used a reg cleaner to get rid of any nvidia drivers lingering as i had problems with ATI driver installation. i uninstalled all graphics drivers and rebooted, then it didn't detect the hardware anymore so i went to manually install it, the error i got was "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)".

my question is "where in the registry do i go to hard delete this info from windows, so i can re-install my grapchis card"

no nails left soon to bite,

please help.

Try looking in:
HkeyLocalMachine\System\ControlSet001\Services
You should see references to ATI there.
You may wish to export them (in case you need them back), then delete them to see if that helps.
Good luck!
