I have recently paid a company to build a dynamic content web site using php, I need to edit the html pages that contain the code, but not actually edit the code.
I always used Front Page 2000 for html editing in the graphical mode, but it will not open the index.php and other files without displaying a bunch of code all over the page.
Is there an editor that will allow me edit the page html in a graphical interface?
I tried Dreamweaver MX, but it's $400, a bit steap.
I alsi tried spider writer, but it wants to open the pages in notepad when I attempt to view the output.
Any ideas appreciated.

I don't understand what you mean by "displaying a bunch of code" when you open a PHP file. If you're opening a script file, wouldn't that be expected?

The page has normal html tables and graphics in it, but also has php code for the dynamic content, i need to edit the page content around the php code. Like add links to static pages or downloads etc...
When I open the page in front page 2000, it is so disfigured with the code showing that i can't even begin to edit the html on the page.

It may be that the code is interspersed within the HTML. If the page is dynamic, this is very likely.

Any editor, graphical or not, is likely going to show you that. The presumption with the creation of a programming editor is that the user will want to see the program code.

Yep, I tried that one yesterday. It's not to bad but seems to error out when I attempt to preview the page. I found Namo WebEditor and it works much better, it is an excellent editor/viewer for these php pages.
Thanks for the replies.
