Graphic images disappear in Word 2002

I have a strange problem that only happens on some PC's in the office. When a graphic image is pasted / imported into a Word document, it is initially visible. If you scroll down the document until the image is not visible, and then you scroll back up, the image disappears (is not visible). When you print preview or print, the graphic is there and prints fine. Unfortunately, this gets very confusing to the users, as they don't know if the graphic image is there or not.

As mentioned before, this only happens on some computers, and is not document specific. Has anyone seen this before? Is there a setting in Word that I am overlooking?

Hi, yes I have seen it before, but...I never found a solution. It was not constant or consistent.

Shrug. Don't what to say. Are your printer drivers up to date? This did not apply too much for me, as I did not have a printer...although Office still pretends there is one...just not setup...whatever....

Other than that, if Picture placeholders is UNCHECKED, then welcome to wonderful world of Word.

In my case, it is constant and consistent on several computers (all new Dell's).
We use network printers, and everyone uses the same printer drivers.
Picture placeholders is unchecked.

Hopefully someone has the answer to this.

Little chance of this working (since the problems are not identical), but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case. A couple of days ago a poster advised that he could not print preview his Access Reports.

The esteemed dhookum offered this: Set and/or reset the default printer in Windows.

Dang if it didn't work. Bizarre!

I have resolved this issue. I turned down the hardware acceleration on the video card.

In the display properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot tab, I lowered the hardware acceleration 3 notches, and all was well.
