Hi all,

I have a nVidia GeForce2 GTS adapter, with a Tyan S1854 motherboard (via apollo pro 133 chipset). The graphic card and the board support 4x AGP, but if I check the config (in windows, under display, GeForce2 GTS, bus) it says AGP bus speed is 2x.

I tried updating the graphic card drivers, the chipset drivers, the BIOS and the OS without success. I redid all this after a clean install, didn't work either. Then it tried to manually override the APG driving control in the BIOS because I heard it can help with some GeForce 2 but still it didn't work.

I'm running out of ideas :)

Any clue?

Thank you.

Just a thought, but could there be a jumper on the MB that needs to be reset?

So in the BIOS, it is set at 4x? Always leave the Driving Control and timing settings etc. at automatic...

I agree with Tahoe2, check your motherboard manual for a mention of a jumper.

DragonQ105, the bios was already set at 4x, forgot to mention it in my first post.

I looked in my manual, there is no jumper for AGP speed selection on the motherboard. They say some graphic cards may be incompatible with the board for 4x AGP, but my card appears on the compatibility list so I guess this is not the problem.

I also found the following in my board manual :

AGP Driving Control : Due to the compatibility of some AGP cards with the chipset this setting is used to fine tune these issues. Default is set to Manual.

I don't like to play around with this to much as it could damage my graphic adapter.

What should I do?
