Hello SQL Gurus,

What book(s) would you recommend for someone to learn MS SQL Server administration? I want to learn about enterprise manage and query analyzer at a minimum and would like some good reference material on this. Software Sales, Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Any of the SQL Server DBA Survival Guides by Microsoft would be a start. The latest I have is for 7.0 and 6.5, so I assume they have one for 2000.

Hope that helps,

Denise D.

Personally I swear by the 'Sql Server 2000 Black Book' by Dalton & Whitehead --- published by Coriolis. So many good examples, programming tips and then administration is easy. Some of the best $60 I have spent.. ok - the company has spent.

Don't forget to look at the 6 volume SQL Server 2000 Reference Library ... can get it pretty inexpensively on Ebay. Also need a good TSQL book like "The Gurus guide to Transact-SQL" by Ken Henderson as well as a favorite of mine ... Transact-SQL by William C. Amo.
Thanks

J. Kusch
