Useful Reference Books for SQL Server Professionals faq183-3324
Plenty of good books here. Ones that will help you do the work. Can't say as to whether they will help you pass the exam or not as I find that exams are bizarre asking questions about things you may never run into in real life and not asking questions about things it is vital to know.
But if you can't do the work, what is the point in passing the exam anyway?
I used the official Microsoft Training Kits when I did both my SQL exams. I found it gave me a good idea about the different areas that they were testing on.
In addition to those I found these forums very useful as you get examples of real-world problems/questions which you never quite get in text books.
I recently purchased Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database Design and Implementation. I'd say it is definitely geared more toward passing the exam than any real world situation. Very brief on examples and lengthy on test question and the like.
I agree with SQL Sister. You may wish to look for a "nuts and bolts" book, then look into this.
