All:

I know I can change the administrator account name through group policy. Does anyone know if there is a way to change the local administrator account password for every computer in the domain?

TIA!!!

You can do so by modifying/adding a policy:

Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Security Settings / Security Option

Then modify the "Rename Administrator Account" by adding the new name of the administrator account and turning on the policy.

BE CARFUL when using the policies. You don't want to put this policy as the Domain Policy or you will modify the admin account in all machine, including the SERVERS!

I suggest you either create a new OU, add the policy and drop all the computer accounts you want to be modified in that OU.

I have successfully renamed the account using a new OU and group policy. However I was wondering if there was a way to globally change the local administrator password?

TIA!!!

All:

I found the cusrmgr tool that comes in the resource kit.

cusrmgr.exe -u Administrator -m \\pc1 -P newpass

If you create a batch file this can be done for all machines.

Hope this helps. Also if there are any other ways I would greatlt appreciate the assistance.

TIA!!!
