Hi,
This might be a very old question : how to make a dual/triple boot system?
I've tried this with a 98, W2K, system commander ver.7:
First I install the W2K, then SC7 and make a partition for 98. All works fine in this manner with SC7's nice choose-an-OS-menu. If I have the other way round ie. 98, SC7 and then W2K, the SC7 boot-OS-menu and then comes the usual annoying (if you may say) B&W choice-of-OS screen. In other words you have to choose twice. It seems that w2k can see the 98 and create the B&W menu after the SC7 menu. But the 98 cannot recognize the W2K and thus fine. Is there any way to avoid this? If I am to install 2 W2K's or 1 W2K and XP, the B&W screen would appear for sure. I've tried it this way : I install 1 of them on the target disk first, then SC7, make a partition for the 2nd OS. Then I install the 2nd OS on a smaller drive (without the 1st one in place). Put back the larger drive and then I use Norton's ghost to ghost the 2nd OS onto the larger drive (with both drive attach, of course). Take off the small drive and boot at SC7 OS-menu. If I am choosing the 1st OS, it's OK. But if I am choosing the 2nd OS, it tells me that :
<Window root>\winnt\system32\ntoskrnl.exe is corrupted
or doesn't exist. Try to repair with an installation
disk.
If I tried to boot from SC7 with the smaller drive attached (there are 3 OS to choose in SC7 menu now and I boot from the small drive where the 2nd OS is originally installed) there is an error saying that :
ntdrl file is missing
Can someone be kind enough to give me a hand please.
