I created a form based on a survey where people answered questions. For the questions, there are drop down lists with possible selections of "Yes" "No" or "NA". One question has a range from 5 down to 1 for a rating. Now I need a report that tells me how many people said yes, how many said no, etc. and on the rating question, how many people said 5, 4, etc. I have no idea how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks!!!

All the information entered into the form is then saved into your table.
The next step is to generate a query based on the table.

Select new query and in the drop down list, select the name of the table.

Once the query window opens, you can then select all the fields that you want to query on and in the criteria field beside the ratings you can enter 5,4,3,2,1 etc....

Once this is done, you generate a report based on that query. It might be easier to do this if you use the wizard to generate the report. This will give you some idea as to how Access is manipulating the information.

Hi,

Thanks so much for the tips. I actually already did this part. The problem I'm having is that the report gives me the information, but it gives me everything. I put in three records so far just to test the database and the report gives me all three records and the responses to each question (yes, no, or whatever). I just need to know how many said yes, no, etc. So I only need the questions on there once, then beside it a count for the yes answers, a count for the no answers, etc. I have a feeling that in order to accomplish that I'll need to change something either in the table itself or the query.

When I created the form and entered the yes, no, NA things it asked me the question if I wanted to assign values to those or remember them for later use. So I had it remember them for later use. Yes = 1, No = 2, NA = 3. I thought there would be a way for it count them that way, but I couldn't figure it out.

Michelle :)

Have you set the criteria for the report within the query itself?
Make sure that beside the yes/no/na field, you set the criteria to be 1,2 or 3.
If you have any major problems, E-Mail me a copy of the MDB file and I will have a look at it for you.
