I have an old FoxPro app (1998?) and do not know what version it is. I do not have FoxPro and need to get the tables into Access2000. Access seems to bring them in fine except for the *.dbf tables with memos (*.fpt files?) Is there some shareware out there that can help me get everything into Access? Thanks for your help (again).

Memo Fields
FoxPro and dBASE Memo fields are located in files separate from their associated tables. When linking or opening FoxPro or dBASE tables with associated Memo fields, the Memo files must be located in the same folder as the table files.

I am unclear as to why you are unable to bring in the memo fields?? What type of error are you getting???

Let me know...

The import is into Access2000 and the error is along the lines of unreconized file format for any database with the memo field (they do import into excel but without the memo info)

Try reviewing this. Someone claims to have a tool. Also if this is a "one time" load then someone else used Perl to create XML files. Anyway... Foxpro??

I also found this. It appears to solve most everyone's problem..

To get the FPT to transfer you will need to use ODBC. You can download the FoxPro and Visual FoxPro ODBC driver from

...i downloaded OLEDB provider and that works...

See if that will work for you as well ..
