Ok well I have Finally got to where my new E2K server will accept and migrate files from our 5.5 box.
I am now trying to get my E2K box to receive mail from our external Sendmail box that forwards mail from outside the firewall to our exchange server inside.

Does anyone know the steps to take in doing this so that I can do away with my old 5.5 box.

Ok I just ran through the MX testing using the Tenlnet test of sending mail to myself and it all worked good, So now I am at a loss, does "Sendmail" use another method of forwarding mail to Exchange 2000 than it did with Exchange 5.5. Everything seems to be set correctly yet we cannot get a peice of mail to foward to the new server....

I can't ping or telnet to 64.216.118.135. Is this address natted to your Exchange 2K server on your firewall?

I never asked you this simple question yet - Can you send mail internally and/or externally?

Yeah , it will not allow anything accept for the sendmail server to come through and comunicate with the internal Exchange server. I think I may have figured out the problem after a little reading
, gonna sound kinda stupid but , I have the old Exchange box still running on the net , I thought that since I had changed the IP address Pointer in the Firewall that there would be no contention between these 2 machines to get the mail, well seems that there is , I am waiting for the end of the day for the users to go home so that I can nock the other server offline to see if this will solve the problem,,,, I sure hope it does, let me know if you think this is headed in the right direction....

Wow this thread is going crazy...

Go there and see what the internet thinks you MX record is. That should be the first test when you need SMTP to make it to E2k. Dan
