I started out with 13Gigabytes of hard drive and now I was to reclaim some of it, how do I get rid of stuff from my hard drive or if I wanted to start from the beginning how do I clear out everything without getting rid of some the main soft ware.

What version of Windows are you running? Most have a disk cleanup facility (usually under Programs/Accessories/System Tools). You can review software you have installed (add/remove program in Control Panel) and uninstall anything you no longer use. Try this utility to get a breakdown of what's taking up your disk space If you've got a CD writer, you can archive material you don't use very frequently.
